Whitworths Long Grain Rice has its origins in the Patna region of India, and is grown in the United States, Thailand, Surinam and Guyana. Use it as an accompaniment to savoury dishes, especially curries, casseroles and stews, combined with vegetables in salads or savoury dishes such as Kedgeree, Jambalaya or Paella.
Whitworths Brown Rice come from Surinam or Guyana. This long grain rice from which only the inedible husk has been removed, is preferred by those who favour more wholesome, natural foods. It can be substituted for white long grain rice and is especially good where its additional flavour and texture can add character to a dish, such as in salads, with fish or more simple meat dishes.
