Nearly 4000 years ago, a fruit belonging to the rose family was discovered on the mountain slopes of China. Today, it’s generally accepted that the Chinese first cultivated this ancient fruit, the wild ancestor to the present day apricot. During the 18th century they were introduced to the California missions.
Apricots are grown in three main areas of the world, Turkey, USA and China. The largest producer of Apricots is Turkey.
Enjoy Whitworths' Apricots straight out of the pack. They have many uses including as a top-up for cereal, in a salad, in a dessert, dip into chocolate for a sweet treat, slice open and serve with cream cheese or chop and add to your favourite curry!
