Whitworths scored another first for convenience, with its 'no need to soak fruit'.
The company also became known as 'A Girl's Best Friend' - a slogan remembered by many of you today, even though it is almost 40 years since its last airing!
1970
Frank George died. He was succeeded as Chairman by his son, Tony, (1970-1984).
1971
Awarded Royal Warrant by Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
1974
Awarded Royal Warrant by Queen Elizabeth II.
